Court injunction against unlawful sittings (Updated 7.45pm)

IPOH, 3 March 2009: The High Court here today issued an order restraining Perak state legislative assembly Speaker V Sivakumar from convening any unlawful sittings.
The order was issued by Judicial Commissioner Ridwan Ibrahim after hearing arguments in chambers from a team of seven lawyers representing newly-appointed Menteri Besar Datuk Dr Zambry Abdul Kadir and six state executive councillors.
The legal team was led by Firoz Husain Ahmad Jamaluddin.
Firoz told reporters later that the restraining order did not have a time limit. — Bernama
