KUALA LUMPUR, 30 Jan 2009: Over 10,000 flags will be distributed here in conjunction with Federal Territory Day (FT Day) on Sunday, Kuala Lumpur City Hall director-general Datuk Salleh Yusup said.
He said the flags would be distributed to non-governmental organisations, taxi drivers, motorists and the public.
Salleh called on the people in the federal territories of Kuala Lumpur, Putrajaya and Labuan to raise the flags in conjunction with the FT Day celebration.
Prime Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi will launch the month-long celebration on Sunday evening at the Titiwangsa Lake here.
The closing ceremony will be held in Labuan on 28 Feb 2009. — Bernama

What to celebrate on FT day?
Millions of Malaysians have lost their second vote (after losing the third) with the seizure by the Federal Government and the establishment of the so-called Federal Territories.
In democracies, no taxation without representation. Only colonies will be ruled by governors sent by some supreme rulers from afar.
What we have now are not Federal Territories, but Federal Colonies, for which decolonisation requires either introduction of democracy (minimally, state-level elections) or their de-establishment and re-unification with their original states (Selangor and Sabah).
I will celebrate the day decolonisation comes.
