KUALA LUMPUR, 24 May 2009: Sixteen people including Teratai state assemblyperson Jenice Lee, detained in an illegal gathering on 21 May, have been released on police bail.
Ampang Jaya police chief ACP Abdul Jalil Hassan told Bernama they have to be present at Ampang Jaya police headquarters on 10 June to complete investigation.
The 12 men and four women were detained at 8.45pm after a candlelight vigil in front of the Ampang Jaya DAP office here.
The detention was the second for the Teratai assembly member who was involved in a similar gathering in front of the Seputeh member of parliament’s office.
The illegal gathering was in protest against the political situation in Perak. — Bernama
