KUALA LUMPUR, 20 Jan 2009: Civil servants contributing to the Employees Provident Fund (EPF) but who are now eligible to opt for the Public Service Department’s (PSD) pension scheme have until 31 Jan to notify the department of their preferred option.
Any civil servant not notifying the PSD via the option form provided before the deadline or does so but with objections or conditions, will be deemed to have chosen to remain in the EPF scheme, the PSD said in a statement here today.
According to the PSD, guidelines on the pension option had been provided through PSD service circulars number 19 of 2008 and number 1 of 2009.
