SHAH ALAM, 17 Dec 2008: The Selangor government has rejected an application from the family of Datuk Zakaria Md Deros to obtain temporary occupation licence (TOL) on the courtyard of their mansion in Kampung Idaman, Pandamaran in Klang near here.
Zakaria, a former Port Klang state assemblyperson, passed away on 11 March.
Menteri Besar Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim said the decision was made during the state executive councillors meeting here today.
Hence, he said he would ask the Klang district office, together with the Yang Dipertua of the Klang Municipal Council, to invite residents in the vicinity of the area to discuss whether the land should be left empty or sold to Zakaria’s family.
“That way, we could give the community a chance to decide,” he said.
On 12 Nov, the state government had instructed the family to give up their garden and vacate the entire courtyard of the bungalow within a month.
This was because the 2,269 sq ft gated-fence courtyard was developed on state-owned land. — Bernama
