KUALA LUMPUR, 18 Feb 2009: Bukit Gelugor Member of Parliament Karpal Singh today claimed that he has evidence to prove that Chief Justice Tan Sri Zaki Azmi had been involved in bribery.
Karpal Singh, who is also DAP chairperson, claimed that Zaki clearly made such a declaration in Kuching on 7 Nov last year but later denied it.
At a news conference at the Parliament lobby here, Karpal also played a recording purported to be that of Zaki speaking in Kuching.
“A tribunal should be set up to determine whether he is is guilty or whether he is eligible to continue as the Chief Justice … it’s better if he resigns voluntarily,” he said. — Bernama

When Elizabeth’s photo was circulated there was hue and cry by Umno and BN. Khir Toyo spoke about “morality” and Liow Tiong Lai of MCA spoke about “Eastern lifestyle” which must be “reflected”. If the “leaders” claimed that they are committed or people of principle, then Karpal’s claim of the chief justice’s involvement in bribery should receive more hue and cry from the people who speak about morality.
