KUALA LUMPUR, 18 March 2009: The 216th meeting of the Conference of Rulers was held at Istana Negara here today.
The meeting, chaired by the Sultan of Kelantan, Tuanku Ismail Petra, was attended by all the rulers and Yang Dipertua Negeri except for Terengganu and Johor.
The Sultan of Terengganu was represented by Terengganu Regency Advisory Council pesident Tengku Sri Panglima Raja Tengku Baderulzaman Sultan Mahmud while the Sultan of Johor was represented by the Tunku Mahkota of Johor, Tunku Ibrahim Ismail Sultan Iskandar.
Present were the menteris besar and chief ministers.
Yang di-Pertuan Agong Sultan Mizan Zainal Abidin is scheduled to attend the meeting tomorrow accompanied by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi.
Tonight Tuanku Mizan Zainal Abidin and Raja Permaisuri Agong Tuanku Nur Zahirah will attend a banquet in conjunction with the meeting. — Bernama
