KULIM, 15 Sept 2008: Umno Youth information chief Datuk Azimi Daim today offered himself as a candidate for a Supreme Council (MT) post at the party’s polls in December.
"I offer myself for the post as a representative of Umno Youth after having talked over the matter with Umno Youth chief, Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Hussein in Sungai Petani yesterday," Azimi told Bernama today.
With the entry of Azimi, 44, it brings to four the number of candidates from Kedah vying for a MT seat.
The others in the running are Kedah Umno liaison chief Datuk Seri Mahdzir Khalid, Deputy Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Datuk Wira Johari Baharom and Kulim/Bandar Baharu Umno head, Datuk Abdul Aziz Sheikh Fadzir.
Meanwhile, In PASIR SALAK, Pasir Salak Umno chief Datuk Tajuddin Abdul Rahman also offered himself for the MT post.
Tajuddin, who is also the Member of Parliament for Pasir Salak, said numerous Umno divisions in Perak had asked him to go for an MT seat. – Bernama
