The Meteorological Department here said April was a torrid month as it was the inter-monsoon period coupled with the sun being overhead the Equator.
The highest temperature recorded between 1 and 28 April was 36.1 degrees Celcius, it said.
From mid-May till September, it will be the southwest monsoon period.
Peak temperatures during the period are forecast at between 30.7 and 34.1 degrees Celcius. — Bernama
