ON 25 June 2008, Five Arts dancer-choreographer Elaine Pedley won a RM3,500 grant for her series of dance and performance workshops with children from Selayang in Selangor.
The grant, which was given to seven recipients, was part of the The Annexe Central Market and Fashion Inc’s Grant For Grabs programme, set up to encourage and support local artists in the development and creation of new works in various arts disciplines.
Some 20 children aged four to 13 benefited from the workshops, which culminated in two performances during a sports day event on 31 Aug 2008.
