KUALA TERENGGANU, 15 Oct 2008: The two-day 215th meeting of the Conference of Rulers began at Istana Maziah here today, chaired by the Sultan of Kedah, Sultan Abdul Halim Mu’adzam Shah.
All the rulers and Yang Dipertua Negeri were present except for the sultans of Pahang, Johor and Terengganu, the Raja of Perlis and the Yang Dipertuan Besar of Negeri Sembilan, who sent their representatives.
The representatives were the Regent of Pahang, Tengku Mahkota Tengku Abdullah Sultan Ahmad Shah, the Tunku Mahkota of Johor, Tunku Ibrahim Ismail Sultan Iskandar, Terengganu Regency Advisory Council President Tengku Sri Panglima Raja Tengku Baderulzaman Sultan Mahmud, the Raja Muda of Perlis, Tuanku Syed Faizuddin Putra Jamalullail and the Regent of Negeri Sembilan, Tunku Laksamana Tunku Naquiyuddin Ibni Tuanku Ja’afar.
Also present were the menteris besar and chief ministers of all the states, except Sabah which was represented by Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Seri Yahya Hussin.
A state banquet will be held at Wisma Darul Iman tonight in conjunction with the meeting.
The Yang di-Pertuan Agong, Tuank Mizan Zainal Abidin, is scheduled to attend the meeting tomorrow, accompanied by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi. — Bernama
