Sharmila Valli Narayanan started her career as a teacher in Gelang Patah, once an idyllic rural town in Johor. After one year, eight months and six days, she had enough and fled to KL, where she found herself, and a couple of other people too, in Her World magazine. She has written for all the top women’s magazines in Malaysia and also writes the profiles column for Malaysian Business. Before becoming an art director for several companies, Shieko was a visualiser for international advertising agencies where she drew storyboards, made fun of evil bosses, and designed birthday and farewell cards for colleagues. Out of boredom, she started visualising on public walls, and her talent has resulted in commissioned work by, among others, Nike, Adidas and Toyota.
