KUALA LUMPUR, 13 Nov 2008: Bukit Gelugor Member of Parliament Karpal Singh today lodged a police report on the statement by Chief Justice Tan Sri Zaki Azmi that Zaki had bribed court staff during his days as a lawyer.
Karpal lodged the report at the Dang Wangi police station at 3pm.
He said that Azmi’s statement, which was reported in the New Straits Times on 8 Nov, exposed him to prosecution under Section 4(b) of the Prevention of Corruption Act 1961.
However, Zaki has clarified that he has never in his life bribed or received any bribe.
Karpal Singh said he would bring the case to the Anti-Corruption Agency. — Bernama
