KUALA LUMPUR, 18 Dec 2008: Kuala Lumpur City Hall will evacuate the Lorong Setiabistari residents in Bukit Damansara if it is found that they are exposed to danger, Federal Territories Minister Datuk Seri Zulhasnan Rafique said today.
If the residents’ safety was found to be at risk due to the previous hillslope projects, they would be evacuated and placed in a housing area, he said without specifying the housing area.
He told reporters this when asked to comment on the minor landslip in Lorong Setiabistari, Bukit Damansara, last Sunday evening which caused police to order five families in the vicinity to evacuate their homes.
The priority of the ministry is to ensure the safety of the residents and the stability of the slope, and action will be taken when needed,” he said.
Earlier, Zulhasnan launched Kwong Hing Group’s newly refurbished building, Wisma Hamzah-Kwong Hing at Lebuh Ampang here. — Bernama
