KUALA LUMPUR, 9 April 2009: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak had an audience with Yang di-Pertuan Agong Tuanku Mizan Zainal Abidin at Istana Terengganu here today to obtain the king’s consent for his new cabinet.
Najib arrived at the palace in a Proton Perdana at 10.57am to submit the list to Tuanku Mizan. He left about 30 minutes later without stopping to speak to the media waiting outside the gate.
He is scheduled to announce the new cabinet line-up in Putrajaya at 3pm.
The new ministers and deputy ministers will take their oath of office at Istana Negara at 9.30am tomorrow.
The formation of the new cabinet followed Najib’s appointment as prime minister on 3 April 2009. — Bernama
