KUALA LUMPUR, 19 March 2009: Claims under the cash rebate disbursement scheme for vehicle owners have been extended to 14 April.
In a statement here today, Pos Malaysia said the government had informed the company about the extension.
It said eligible vehicle owners are encouraged to renew their road tax personally at any post offices nationwide for them to receive the rebate on the same day. They can also make claims through www.posonline.com.my and the rebate will be deposited to their bank account.
“For those who are unable to to make the claim during working hours, they can came to post offices which operate after working hours or post offices which are open on weekends,” Pos Malaysia said.
The rebate was introduced in April last year following the sharp increase in fuel prices and supposed to end on 31 March.
Owners of vehicles with 2,000cc engines and below, and pick-up trucks and four-wheel-drive vehicles with 2,500cc engines and below are entitled to a rebate of RM625 per vehicle. Owners of motorcycles below 250cc are eligible for RM150. — Bernama
