KUALA LUMPUR, 15 April 2009: The Public Complaints Bureau has opened an office in Sentul here to bring the bureau closer to the people, Deputy Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Senator T Murugiah said today.
He said the office, located at the Sri Batu Community Activity Centre (Kemas) at Lot 48565, Jalan 2/12D, Kg Sri Batu, Batu 4 1/2, Jln Ipoh, in Sentul, would augment the office in Putrajaya.
“It will be easier for the public to lodge any complaint,” he told reporters at the new office.
He said he would be at the Sentul office every Tuesday from 9am. The Putrajaya office will be open on Mondays, Wednesday, Thursdays and Fridays.
Murugiah also said that the bureau would reduce its “problem-solving” time from the current 10 days to five beginning 21 April.
He said it was vital for the bureau to solve problems quickly and effectively in keeping with the efficiency called for by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak.
Murugiah said representatives from the relevant ministries would be present at the complaints session to resolve the problems speedily.
“I am making a promise to help those in need and to solve their problems quickly,” he said. — Bernama
