SHAH ALAM, 24 July 2009: A coroner’s inquest has been scheduled for 15 days, beginning Wednesday, 29 July, to look into the death of political aide Teoh Beng Hock.
Selangor police chief Datuk Khalid Abu Bakar said that he was informed of the date by the Shah Alam magistrate’s court yesterday.
The police would close the investigation into Teoh’s death before the inquest began, he said when contacted today.
Teoh fell to his death at the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) office in Shah Alam on 16 July.
Apart from the inquest, the cabinet also agreed to set up a Royal Commission of Inquiry to look into interrogation methods used by MACC officers on Teoh. — Bernama
