PUTRAJAYA, 22 Jan 2009: The Education Ministry today launched a Humanitarian Fund for the Palestine People in conjunction with the launch of the “One Malaysia, One Voice” campaign aimed at instilling love for peace, and hatred for violence among students.
Education director-general Datuk Alimuddin Mohd Dom said in conjunction with the campaign which runs until 20 Feb, schools would be free to decide on suitable student activities.
Among activities identified are drawing and essay-writing competitions, and poetry recitals, he told reporters here today.
He said students would also be encouraged to write letters to students in Palestine which would be sent through Wisma Putra.
“A total of 10,000 schools, including national type schools, private schools and international schools, will take part in the campaign,” he added.
Public donations can be made by sending a cheque, made payable to MESCA Treasurer, to:
