SANDAKAN, 7 April 2009: Francis Indanan, 41, one of 13 Internal Security Act (ISA) detainees released three days ago wants to focus on his family.
“My priority is to make up for the three years lost when detained under the ISA. I missed my wife and five children so much and want to spend my time with them,” he said when met at him house here today.
Indanan and two other ISA detainees returned to Sandakan yesterday after their release on 5 April and was thankful that he was welcomed back with open arms by family members and friends.
He said that he was looking forward to a normal lifestyle and described his release from detention as a dream come true.
“I am thankful to the government for the release and want to make the ISA detention a useful lesson in life,” said Indanan.
He added the ISA detainees did not know who were the 13 released when it was announced by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak.
The names of 13 ISA detainees released were announced by Home Minister Datuk Seri Syed Hamid Albar. — Bernama
