IPOH, 5 Sept 2008: Former Perak State Assembly Speaker Datuk Abdul Malek Ahmad, 78, died at about 1.45pm today due to lung cancer. He was being treated at his son’s clinic in Ampang.
His son, Dr Khairuddin, said Abdul Malek had been suffering from lung cancer for three years and his condition worsened since two weeks ago. Abdul Malek, who leaves a wife and nine children, will be buried at the Muslim cemetery at Ayer Tawar. – Bernama
