“There’s nothing to stop us from being Malaysian first” (Corrected 1:20pm, 7 June 2011)
We had originally published that Lim was in Malacca on 13 May 1969. Lim, however, subsequently alerted us that although he campaigned and stood for election in Malacca, he had flown to Sabah by 13 May. He also added that elections were supposed to be held in Sabah and Sarawak two weeks after 10 May, not just in Sarawak.
Yasmin Yusuff: Different but 100% Malaysian (Corrected 12:50pm, 6 June 2011)
Yasmin originally stated that both her grandfathers were teachers/school heads, but she subsequently learnt that her paternal grandfather was a teacher, while her German grandfather was an architect for the German government.
Yasmin’s original quote was: “I guess that’s why we gravitated to similar ‘Melayu celups’ like Deanna Yusoff, Harith Iskander, Asha Gill and Ramona Rahman.” It has been pointed out that Asha Gill is not “Melayu celup” as she is of Punjabi-British ancestry.
