KUALA LUMPUR, 5 March 2009: Selangor Menteri Besar Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim will decide on the status of embattled Bukit Lanjan assemblyperson, Elizabeth Wong, after she returns from leave on 15 March.
Wong, 37, has offered to resign as the assemblyperson and state executive councillor following the controversy over the distribution of intimate pictures of her two weeks ago.
She has since taken a leave of absence and is currently believed to be overseas.
Khalid told reporters at parliament lobby today that any decision would only be made after she returned from leave.
“I will discuss with her after 15 March,” he said, adding that the discussion would involve her position in the state government and as Parti Keadilan Rakyat assemblyperson.
He also said that he was still waiting for the result of police investigations into the matter.
“I hope to hear from them before 15 March,” he said.
Police have so far recorded statements from Wong and 12 individuals including four reporters – two each from the Malay Mail and theSun. — Bernama
