Khir Toyo receives death threat letter

September 17, 2009

Khir Toyo
SHAH ALAM, 17 Sept 2009: Selangor opposition leader Datuk Seri Dr Mohamad Khir Toyo lodged a report at the Shah Alam district police headquarters today on an anonymous death threat letter he had received.

He said he came across the two-page letter, handwritten in Bahasa Malaysia, when going through his mail at his office in Glenmarie near here at 10am.

Speaking to reporters outside the police station in Section 11 here, he said based on the postage on the envelope, the letter was mailed on 15 Sept from Bukit Raja, Klang.

Khir Toyo said the letter had been sent to his constituency office in Sungai Panjang, and that his aide had brought it to him together with Aidilfitri greeting cards and other mail sent to the Glenmarie office.

“The letter simply stated that if I did not stop, I would be shot or hit with a poison dart. This has got me worried, and that is why I am making this police report,” he said.

He added that he had lately been receiving numerous threats via phone and SMS but had not paid much attention to them.

“It appears that accusations that I am trying to topple the Pakatan Rakyat (PR) government in Selangor has reached a very serious level. The writer wrote that he could take me out at anytime, whether in Sungai Panjang, Sungai Besar, Sungai Dorani or Shah Alam,” Khir Toyo said.

He said that he seemd to be the only target, and would be taking extra precautions in his movements.

Asked if he had any idea who might be behind the letter, Khir Toyo said it was probably a PR supporter, but it was best to leave it to the police to get to the bottom of the case. — Bernama

Anyone believe this? I believe this is just a diversion from the core issues.

Is this a smokescreen again? If that person wants to do Khir Toyo in, just go ahead and finish him off. Don’t bother warning him.

[What] did they threaten to do? Facial treatment him to oblivion?

It could be from Umno master/supporter because [Khir] Toyo has tarnished Umno and BN’s image in Selangor beyond repair.

In order to win back Selangor from PR, BN and Umno don’t need [Khir] Toyo in their camp, I guess.

Whatever the veracity of this perceived threat, only heaven knows. Interestingly, will the loud and proud be cowed (apt word indeed!) into a semblance of civility? Will he henceforth be less spewing forth of venom and vile? Only heaven knows.

It seems like [he is] fabricating this to deviate from his failings as Selangor’s [chief] minister. Maybe, he hasn’t paid for his botox surgeries after using up all his moolah for that resort in Shah Alam, so now they’re sending in the Ah Longs[?] 🙂

Does anybody still remember this incident?

Sin Chew Daily reporter Tan Hoon Cheng was detained under the Internal Security Act (ISA) because police received information that her life had been threatened, said Home Minister Datuk Seri Syed Hamid Albar. “Police wanted to get to the bottom of it,” he said.

[Khir Toyo] must be detained, too.

Another self-directed drama or antic, starring the director himself. Common, we’re not born yesterday!

[Come on] man, PR supporters are decent people, unlike the opposition.

Cannot believe that the postal department is so efficient that a letter mailed on 15 Sept could actually reach Toyo’s office on 16 or 17 Sept. That’s just one to two days! I have had my mail from my office just 1km away reaching me one to two weeks later.

Maybe, this was another movie production itself. Directed by Khir Toyo, starring Khir Toyo himself to act and respond by himself, meaning that maybe he was planning all these to bring down the PR […]

Yakah? He mailed it to himself lah…

Furthermore, why give him the luxury of fast death. We want to see him being interviewed, tormented, punished, doing naked squats and thrown into the dungeon. Zakaria was smart […] and his family kept the mansion. Zakaria sacrificed himself for the family to maintain the ill-gotten asset.

Fair and Lovely (R) overdose I hear may be the assassin’s weapon of choice. They should monitor all transactions from the Unilever plant.

The death threat was made by Khir Toyo to himself. Purpose is to distract MACC and police investigations into his [alleged] corruption.

Police and MACC are now focused on investigating the death threat instead of corruption. RM24 million corruption no longer will be investigated. Period.
