KUALA LUMPUR, 11 Feb 2009: Selangor police chief Datuk Khalid Abu Bakar was at the Sepang district police headquarters today to give his statement pertaining to the case of car theft suspect A Kugan who died in a police lock-up on 20 Jan.
Khalid arrived there at about 3pm and completed giving his statement to two Bukit Aman police officers, ACP Razali Basri and Chief Insp. Rasha Aswadi, half an hour later.
“There’s nothing to comment. I’ve given by statement as requested. Let the police carry out their investigation,” he said when contacted by Bernama.
Member of Parliament for Kapar S Manikavasagam had lodged a police report against Khalid for allegedly making a false statement that two deputy ministers and Kugan’s family had barged into the Serdang Hosptal mortuary on 20 Jan.
Kugan, 23, who was arrested on 15 Jan for suspected involvement in the theft of luxury cars in Sungai Chua, Kajang, was found dead in the USJ Subang Jaya police lock-up.
