KUALA LUMPUR, 2 Oct 2008: A married couple were murdered last night after they went to seek treatment from a man at a flat in Jalan San Peng here.
Dang Wangi police district chief ACP Zulkarnain Abdul Rahman said the couple, in their 40s, went to the man’s house for some form of treatment and the suspect in his 20s is believed to have used a piece of wood to hit them on their heads and bodies.
“The suspect’s younger brother is believed to have abetted him. We received a call at about 9.40pm from the suspect’s neighbours when they heard loud noises from his flat,” Zulkarnain said when contacted here today.
The couple were found dead when police arrived at the scene, he said. Zulkarnain said initial investigation revealed the husband and wife died from serious injuries to their heads. He said the suspect tried to flee but was nabbed by police.
“We have also detained the younger sibling and the parents of the suspect for further investigation,” he said.
The bodies of the dead couple were sent to the Kuala Lumpur Hospital for an autopsy. The case is being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code. — Bernama
