KUALA LUMPUR, 24 Nov 2008: MIC president Datuk Seri Samy Vellu said he would meet Prime Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi to discuss the recent National Fatwa Council’s ruling on the practice of yoga for Muslims.
Samy Vellu said the council had every right to make a decision on Muslims and Islamic matter.
He, however, said the description by the council on the yoga as “haram” may have caused confusion among the non-Muslims, particularly the Hindus.
Therefore, he would like to meet the prime minister on matter. — Bernama
