KUANTAN, 6 April 2009: The police have detained nine students who allegedly used a hot iron to inflict burns on another’s hands at a boarding school in Raub.
The suspects, aged 14 and 16, were said to have committed the offence on 29 March.
Pahang CID chief ACP T Narenasagaran said prior to the incident, the suspects had bullied three junior students into running irrelevant errands, including watering plants at the school hostel.
“We believe the suspects had also used a hot iron on one of the trio’s hands,” he told reporters here today.
Meanwhile, five men armed with a machete and saw, attacked a man before chopping off his right leg at a food outlet in Jalan Rimba, Mentakab on 4 April.
Narenasagaran said initial police investigations have classified the attack as revenge.
He said the incident occurred at 3am, when the victim was having supper with a group of friends.
“Without warning, the assailants turned up, assaulted the victim and chopped off his leg before fleeing from the scene,” he said, adding that the victim’s friends were unhurt.
The victim has been warded at the Mentakab Hospital. — Bernama
