AS a national organisation representing about 120 women’s organisations in the country, the National Council of Women’s Organisations (NCWO) is concerned with the ruling within PAS that all Selangor PAS elected representatives will have to divorce their wives if they were to jump ship.
NCWO would like to state categorically that this is certainly the highest form of injustice to women, an insult to Islam and a mockery of the sanctity of the marriage institution. How could anyone in their right sense use women and family as a pawn in their political game?
With this expose, NCWO would like to urge the public, especially women and girls, to never support any political party that ridicules marriage, women and family.
The general public should come out strongly against such misogynist positions.
