BEIJING, 23 Oct 2008: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi, who is not seeking re-election as Umno president at the next party elections, said the March 2009 timeline for the power transition to his deputy remains unchanged.
“We already have a transition plan. The transition plan will be in March next year,” he said after launching the Beijing representative office of Khazanah Nasional today.
Abdullah was asked by reporters about moves by some Umno members to push for party elections to be held in December 2008, as originally scheduled. — Bernama
