Protest calf handed over to MACC

February 25, 2009

SHAH ALAM, 25 Feb 2009: The Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) Youth wing today handed over a calf to the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) as a protest over remarks made by its chief commissioner, Datuk Seri Ahmad Said Hamdan.

PKR Youth chief Shamsul Iskandar Mohd Akin said the calf was to protest Ahmad Said’s remarks that there was sufficient evidence to charge Selangor Menteri Besar for alleged abuse of power in the maintenance of his personal car and the purchase of 46 cows as sacrifices for Aidiladha.

Shamsul, who led a group of PKR Youth members, contended that Ahmad Said’s announcement was premature as the investigation papers were privileged information under the Official Secret Act and Abdul Khalid had yet to be charged.

Speaking to reporters after handing over the calf outside the MACC Selangor office here today, Shamsul Iskandar said he also handed a report containing 20 alleged irregularities involving Datuk Seri Dr Mohamad Khir Toyo during his tenure as Selangor menteri besar. — Bernama

Toyo stole millions from state government in the Mecca housing deal. But here we have this idiotic lynching of the incumbent Menteri Besar about a few cows. That is the problem. Changed entity name but the rot is still not cured from the inside. Very disappointing.

All well and good, but more importantly, what happened to the poor calf that was unwittingly implicated in all this?
