RapidKL extends LRT, bus service for new year

PETALING JAYA, 26 Dec 2008: Rangkaian Pengangkutan Integrasi Deras Sdn Bhd (RapidKL) will extend the Light Rail Transit System (LRT) and bus service to several stations and selected routes on 31 Dec for the 2009 new year celebrations.

For the Kelana Jaya stream that involves the Kelana Jaya, KL Sentral, Pasar Seni, Masjid Jamek and KLCC stations, service would be extended until 2.30am, RapidKL said in a statement here today.

For the Bangsar, Dang Wangi, Kampung Baru and Ampang Park stations, service  would be extended until 2am while the other stations until 12.45am.

“Service for the Ampang stream that involves the Bandaraya, Masjid Jamek and Hang Tuah stations will be extended until 2.30am and 12.45am for the other stations,” the statement said.

For the bus service, RapidKL would extend the last bus until 2am. It involves stations at Kelana Jaya, Taman Bahagia, Taman Paramount, Asia Jaya, Universiti, Kerinchi, Bangsar, Wangsa Maju, Taman Melati and Gombak on the Kelana Jaya stream.

Other stations affected are Ampang, Cempaka, Pandan Jaya, Maluri, Tasik Selatan, Ampang, Cempaka, Pandan Indah, Salak Selatan, Tasik Selatan and Bukit Jalil on the Ampang stream.

“Service at Setiawangsa and Wangsa Maju stations will be extended until midnight while for Tasik Selatan station, the last bus will be at 1am,” the statement said.
