KOTA KINABALU, 2 April 2009: The Sabah Progressive Party (SAPP) today announced the appointment of three new vice presidents to fill up the three vacancies in the party supreme council — one of the biggest leadership revamp in the party’s 15 year history.
The three new vice presidents are Poon Kee Yang, 53, a businessperson from Sandakan, Jimmy Jawatah, 46, social worker in Tenom and ex-government officer Amde Sidek, 57.
In a statement here, SAPP Information Chief Chong Pit Fah said the appointment was part of the rebuilding of the Sabah-based party.
He said the party also promoted supreme councilor Agnes Moifun Liew to assistant treasurer while ex-vice president Madri Akong was appointed as assistant organising secretary.
Meanwhile, Chong said this year’s SAPP state-level Pesta Kaamatan (Harvest Festival) would be held in the Pensiangan parliamentary constituency as recognition of the huge surge in new members in the area over the last three months. — Bernama
