KUALA LUMPUR, 24 Sept 2008: All schools in the country will open their doors for the 2009 session starting 5 Jan except for Kedah, Kelantan and Terengganu where schools start on 4 Jan.
A statement from the Ministry of Education said for schools in Kedah, Kelantan and Terengganu, the first term break starts from 13-21 March, the second break is from 29 May to 13 June and the third, from 21-29 Aug while the final school holidays start from 20 Nov to 2 Jan of 2010.
For other states, the first term break starts from 14-22 March, second term break from 30 May to 14 June and the third from 22-30 Aug while schools close for the final holidays on 21 Nov and re-open on 3 Jan 2010.
According to the Ministry’s statement, the total number of schooling days including public holidays for 2009 is 208. — Bernama
