SHAH ALAM, 22 March 2009: The Selangor executive council (exco) will decide on the status of Bukit Lanjan assemblyperson’s role in the exco on 25 March, said Menteri Besar Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim.
In a Bernama report yesterday, Abdul Khalid said he and Wong met yesterday over her position as the state Tourism, Consumer Affairs and Environment Committee chairperson.
The report said Wong called on Abdul Khalid at his official residence at 9am and the meeting lasted for more than one hour.
Speaking to reporters later after flagging off an expedition in conjunction with the first anniversary of the opposition state government, Abdul Khalid declined to disclose details of the discussion.
The state exco will decide on Wong’s status after hearing her explanation on 25 March, he said in the report.
Abdul Khalid said Wong, who was still on leave, underwent a minor surgery on her back recently but gave no details.
Wong had offered to quit as assemblyperson and state executive councillor after intimate pictures of her surfaced on the Internet in February, but was asked to go on leave instead until the Selangor government made a decision on this.
