PENANG, 24 June 2009: Penang Gerakan Youth today urged vice-president Huan Cheng Guan to go through the proper party channels to air his grievances over his suspension.
Gerakan Youth chief Oh Tong Keong said Huan should refrain from publicly blaming party leaders or mobilising his supporters to express his unhappiness.
“While we sympathise with him over his current predicament, it is better that he raises his problems within the confines of the party,” he said in a statement.
Last Saturday, the central working committee (CWC) suspended Huan from the party for three years due to his declaration of wanting to leave the party and for openly attacking the party and its leadership.
Huan was reported as saying that the decision of the CWC was not in accordance with the party constitution, and claiming that he was not asked to give an explanation. — Bernama
