KUALA LUMPUR, 8 Oct 2008: The High Court has set Nov 28 for inter-parte hearing of the application by lawyer Datuk Muhammad Shafee Abdullah for a number of injunctions against blogger Raja Petra Raja Kamarudin.
Justice Hakim Datuk Tee Ah Sing fixed the date in chambers here today.
Shafee is suing Raja Petra for posting three articles on 6, 7 and 11 Aug entitled Shafee Abdullah: Sodomologist Extraordinaire, Money, Power and Sex:
What Motivates Man and The Real Dalang Behind The Anwar Sodomy Allegation on
the Malaysia Today website which Shafee said defamed him.
On 13 Aug, he obtained ex-parte injunctions ordering Raja Petra to among others, remove the articles as well as all comments on the articles. He also wants Raja Petra to reveal the identities of website visitors who left comments after the articles were published.
Raja Petra is currently being detained without trial for two years under the Internal Security Act.
The inter-parte hearing was supposed to be held on 2 Sept but on that day, Raja Petra succeeded in getting an order to stop Shafee from acting for himself, and the court postponed the hearing to today. — Bernama
