KUALA LUMPUR, 14 April 2009: Terengganu Menteri Besar Datuk Ahmad Said may be one of the state’s shortest-serving MBs yet as his own backbenchers are plotting to boot him from the government.
According to Umno sources, Ahmad has not been doing his job as expected.
“He has not done anything for Terengganu. There is nothing much on economic development and business is slow,” said the source, adding that Terengganu Inc has yet to be restructured as promised.
Late last year, there was also talk of setting up the Terengganu Investment Authority, which was the brainchild of the king, but things have remained quiet since.
The party source also said that Ahmad did not even try to reunite the differing factions but instead, found fault with the previous administration which was helmed by Datuk Idris Jusoh (Jertih).
