WHAT does it take to stay ahead of the curve in design? How can a foundation, company, industry or country nurture and keep creative talent? What needs to be in place for a traditional craft to be transformed into contemporary and modern designs?
These were some of the questions that were raised in the final Found in Conversation event for 2010 that had as its theme Creativity and Innovation in Design.
The panellists were Royal Selangor general manager Yong Yoon Li, Veritas Design Group principal Lillian Tay and Yayasan Tuanku Nur Zahirah chairperson Suryani Senja Alias who spoke respectively about design in pewter, architecture and songket.
Moderated by The Nut Graph editor and co-founder Jacqueline Ann Surin, the event was held at Leonardo’s Dining Room & Wine Loft on 14 Nov 2010.
