KOTA KINABALU, 17 Jan 2009: Two employees of the Sandakan branch of Lembaga Tabung Haji have been suspended over the alleged withdrawal of a sum totalling RM300,000 from the saving accounts of its members.
Tabung Haji Group corporate affairs and communication general manager Abdul Rashid Hussein said an internal investigation was conducted after an account holder complained that RM7,000 was allegedly withdrawn from his account while he was on a pilgrimage in Mecca recently.
“This is a serious case and we will lodge a police report after consulting our legal advisers,” he told reporters at the Tabung Haji With Media function here today.
He said initial investigations showed that the withdrawals were made at the Sandakan branch of Tabung Haji. — Bernama
